I ordered both Palisades Zoysia and St. Augustine Palmetto and was very impressed with the quality upon delivery. Very healthy and green. The delivery guy even called 10 minutes before he arrived and worked quickly to drop the pallets in the driveway. The winter weather was not kind to our lawn which was already in pretty rough shape. We tried to find a sod in early April, but supplies were low or non-existent. In July, I found that Home Depot had a pallet of some pretty ratty looking sod. It was dry, and pulled up and put on a pallet in the parking lot. I bought 15 blocks of that solid and put it. After 3 or four days, It looked like it was going to be fine, so I decided it was probably a good time to fix the rest of the yard.

Our journey with the Grass Outlet began in July when I ordered 4 pallets of Texas Native St. Augustine. On arrival it looked healthy and I had no reason to doubt it that day. A few pieces above were dry from transport. We went about the installation immediately. By morning we were pretty much done and started watering according to the sod care guide. The first few days everything seemed fine, but within a week we noticed that something was not right. We had properly prepared the areas, and followed the installation and care instructions to a tee, so I knew there was nothing I did wrong. I managed to reach the company as soon as I noticed something.
The customer service team was responsive and helpful in providing a possible diagnosis. It turned out that a handful of compound conditions resulted in some type of fungus taking over. As per her instructions, I treated the areas and kept hoping. However, the condition continued to deteriorate. Then we treated for possible pests. No luck. The conditions continued to worsen and soon the sod was gone.
They came in and helped to solve the problem. I rented a bulldozer from Home Depot and rolled under the first four pallets of sod. A few days later the replacement grass arrived. I installed the same way as I had done six weeks before.
Now, 15 days after installing the replacement sod, it has roots, looks healthy and is growing. There’s still a long way to go, but based on where things were with the health of the first batch, I feel like we’re in much better shape.

The prices seemed fair for the sod, especially compared to the price per block you would pay at a garden centre.
With all that said, I spent a considerable amount more with the water wasted in the first shipment, chemicals to treat the first batch, and the time and effort to install it, up and reinstall it.
