No lights on display but power at plug. Repairman comes at appointed time and says it needs a new circuit board. Within a week, the part arrives and an appointment is made to install the new board and still have the same problem. Have to order a new console panel. 3 and a half weeks later, the part comes in. I have a job which I used the money to buy this machine and now the service advisor wants me to take off work so they can try to fix this machine. He told me I cannot return the machine. Whirlpool Canada LP Customer Assistance said they could not do anything. When I asked to talk to her boss, she put me on hold. She came back and said they would give me 6 months extended factory warranty and she would email this which I have not received. Work schedules will dictate when the next appointment will be made.

I purchased a French Door, Bottom Freezer refrigerator in the summer of 2006. Less than 3 years later, the ice maker door kept opening and closing and the lights on the door panel kept flashing. I called Maytag and found out there was a problem with the circuit board, and that it was under recall. The refrigerator was fixed at no charge and I was happy. Approximately 2-1/2 months ago, less than 7 years after I bought the fridge, it started getting too cold inside and then too warm and then too cold, etc. Then it stopped cooling altogether. From what I read, it was either a problem with the compressor or the relay on the compressor. There was a recall on the relay on some models, but not on mine. I cant even afford a service call. Let alone a repair charge. If the compressor is the problem, Im looking at a repair bill in the hundreds of dollars. The online price for a compressor is over $300. I dont have the money. So the beautiful refrigerator that I paid $2,000 for sits in the kitchen, unplugged. I never figured that Id pay that kind of money for a refrigerator and have 2 major problems with it in less than 7 years. I just got off the phone with Maytag and, of course, they cant do anything to help me. I was hoping to never buy another refrigerator, but if I have to or if I have to buy any other appliance, I will never ever buy another Maytag or Whirlpool. I will post everywhere I can about my experiences with this refrigerator.

We purchased a Maytag from Lowes about 3 years ago. The spin function quit working properly last Feb 19. We paid $350 to have parts replaced thinking it was a fluke and we would be set for a long time to come. Well, last week the same thing happened... not even a year later. Lowes doesnt care and Maytag doesnt care. They want you to spend more to get a warranty to get you to 5 years... well as far as I am concerned that is not good enough. An appliance should last 10-15 years. This Maytag was to replace a Whirlpool that caught all of our clothes in the agitator fins, so after a short period of dealing with that we paid out for a Maytag without an agitator. So in the span of 6 years... we had about $1,500 of dissatisfaction. I believe our repair guy said they the companies are one and the same. Selling junk ought to be illegal.

Maytag dishwasher mdb7749sbm2. Purchased the above Maytag dishwasher model in July 2013. Eight months later the control panel ribbon strip burnt out. The first of many times to come. I had the panel replaced three times during the first year (warrantied by Maytag, now Whirlpool). All I can say is thank goodness, I paid $30.00 for the extended 3-year warranty. It has been the best $30.00 I have ever spent. Unfortunately it doesnt count for all the frustration this appliance has caused me. Ever since the first repairman walked through the door, all he could say is that the control panel was poorly made, electricity and water does not mix and never will. When you use the steam option all you are doing is adding to the problem. (The steam option is the sole reason why I bought the model in the first place!)Anyhow, this model has broken down three more times and it is currently down again as I am writing this, awaiting for a service person to hopefully come out as promised next week. I purchased this appliance two years ago and still have one more year of warranty left. Once it is done, I will be shopping for another dishwasher. If I didnt have it covered with a warranty, I would be paying the service fees of about $251.00 each time they came to change the panel. Shame on Maytag/Whirlpool for not recalling this model.

Waste of $1700. Well all I can say is I wish I woulda read these reviews prior to buying but thought Maytag was a good brand. Boy was I wrong. Never again will I purchase Maytag products. I must say I haven’t had any issues with the dryer. Works great. The washer on the other hand is garbage!! It barely cleans the clothes. Some articles only get partially wet. Everything tangles together. The worst part is all my dark clothes ends up full of dust and lint. They look dirtier coming out than when they went in. Very disappointed. If you use deep load it takes about 1 1/2hrs to wash, definitely not energy efficient, and clothes still have lint on both cycles, and unfortunately most of our clothes need to be hung up, so dryer can’t pick up the lint. My old wash was way better. I shoulda went for same old style. Save you money and buy another brand.

The repair man came and replaced the fuse assembly and all was well until December 2011. Again the same problem happened. I had to wait almost 10 days for someone to repair it. Once again in January 2012 for the second time the fuse assembly was replaced. Its now December 2014 and again my dryer has stopped working. Have to wait again 10 days for anyone to come and fix this. I will never buy another Maytag dryer again.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher (Model: MDBH949AWS2) from Home Depot on 07 April 11 and it died 24 August 11. I called Maytag to set up an appointment for repair. The repair person showed up and stated that the control panel needed to be replaced. Apparently, if moisture gets into the panel it shorts it out. One would think that when designing an appliance that utilizes water and creates steam, it would be sealed. Anyway, the repairman explained that because the dishwasher was in a residential program, the warranty was null and void. I wish that someone would have explained this before I purchased it. I went online to AppliancePartsPro.com and ordered the part for $100.75 including the shipping cost. Then, I went back online to look up how to install the panel. The repair person said that they are charging $133.00 for the part and $129.00 to install. A small star tip screwdriver and 15 minutes was all it took to fix. From what I have read, this will not be the last control panel but, at least, I know how to fix it. Another thing that I know is that Maytag is off my list of future appliance purchases regardless of where Im using them.

The model of the Maytag dishwasher is MDB77479SBM3. This dishwasher looks good from the outside and runs quite but the electronics are cheap and cant stand heat without melting. My wife and I are retired and only used this washer about twice per week. It looks good, cost 650 bucks and it is a pile of junk. No more Maytag in our house. The serviceman has been here twice since we bought it and was told to use extra wash option and heavy load wash with fabric softener option as well, and to only use about one tablespoon of detergent. So much for the green option! Results, still washing clothes 2 or 3 times per load then into the dryer. Tried an experiment - washed a pair of my daughters white capris and then washed them at a friends house while water was saved in a separate tub. Holy crap, the dirt in the water. Do not buy this machine. Not even if it is offered to you for free.

Like so many other consumers, I was drawn to the Maytag name because of what I thought was the high quality of their products and their stellar reputation. So when our old wall-mount oven failed, I sought out a replacement from the Maytag line. I purchased a model MEW5530WDDB17 in 2011 and had it professionally installed. It worked well for a couple of years. Then, suddenly, three of the numbers on the digital control panel stopped working, making it impossible to set the oven to any temperature that included a 4, a 2 or a 5. When I contacted Maytag, I was informed that the unit was out of warranty, but that I could schedule a service call. I had already researched this issue online and knew that the service person would inform me that I needed a new control board and that one could be installed for around $300, and that the new board would come with a 90 day warranty. When I asked the person to whom I was speaking, she said that she had no further information for me. I know that a lot of others have had this same issue with their Maytag range/ovens, and many of them agree with me that we will never purchase another Maytag product.

I purchased a Maytag Bravos Quiet Series 400 in 2010 and it is now leaking like crazy and sounds like the bearings are going or gone in it. I researched washing machines for over a month before purchasing, and it seemed like this would be the machine for our active family. So much for research. It washes clothes okay, but is a bit rough on them. I found that it has ripped some of my more delicate items. When I contacted Maytag, they sent me an email with contact information to purchase a maintenance contract for $395 which would cover the machine for only 1 year. My husband is very mechanical and took the washer apart thinking the seal/gasket may have come off. He cleaned up the seal and the area around it, and put the seal back on. It did not help. He also noticed that the drive shaft to the motor was beginning to RUST! This machine is only 2 1/2 years old! So, if you are noticing that your whites are getting orange spots on them, this is probably happening to your washer, as well. Maytag should step up to the plate and recall this machine.

We bought a Maytag Bottom Freezer Model MBB1952HEW in 2006. We have already replaced the relay, two years ago, now the compressor is going. I have seen recalls of the top freezer on the internet but not on the bottom freezer. It is concerning when you pull your refrigerator out from the wall as to how warm/hot it is back there. We were told it would be cheaper to buy a new refrigerator versus replacing the compressor. We are so disappointed in how much money we have stuck into this refrigerator for how old it is. I would expect a refrigerator from a reputable company to last longer than 6 years.

We bought a Maytag gas range in Feb of 2011. Shortly after that, we started having an intermittent problem with the oven not maintaining the temperature. It sometimes would not heat up to the proper temp or sometimes would get there but not maintain it. We have had several service calls all for this same problem. Each time they would replace things... nothing worked! We called Maytag and they said they wouldnt replace the unit until the same part had failed 3 times. Well, the service company came out 5-6 different times in the first year and replacing the main panel twice and the sensor and some other thingies I dont even remember. Pretty soon the warranty was running out, so I bought an extended warranty due to the fact that the unit had never been fixed. They sent out two different service companies who also were unable to fix the unit. It is now 18 months since we bought it, and Maytag refuses to do anything since it is out of warranty and the extended warranty company will only replace the unit up to 75% of its cost. So yes, we are very angry with Maytag and the way they wont stand behind their product and their total disregard for their customers.

And its not like I can use some pliers to get the switch to work, its like the part that controls the power just dropped out of existence, leaving me with a knob in my hand that connects to nothing! Of course, the limited warranty only covers the drums, not the little dinky parts that break more easily. I had inherited a set of Maytags and they were well over 20 years old (possibly 30) and they both were powerhouses. But this is terrible! We have a similar problem to the others who gave reviews on their still NEW Maytag refrigerators. Ours isnt even four years old and several weeks ago we started smelling a chemical odor which then permeated all of our food in the refrigerator and freezer. We didnt buy the extended warranty because we have owned a few refrigerators and all have lasted just fine for 15+ years with no problems. So I called Maytag. They said for a charge of $369.95 they would schedule a repair and would cover the service call, parts and repair and provide an 12 month warranty. If the service call results in an inability to repair the refrigerator, they will refund the full amount of $369.95. So I asked if Maytag would then replace the refrigerator, and the rep said we have to start with the service call before they would discuss any type of refund or replacement. Im angry and disappointed in Maytag. Its a good thing we have a spare refrigerator in our basem*nt. What a hassle! Weve already had to throw away over $100 in food that picked up that horrible odor. Shame on Maytag!

My Maytag microwave caught fire and burned our cabinets and wall. We had just arrived home from vacation and our fire alarm went off. No one was using the microwave at the time, it just caught fire. We put the fire out with the extinguisher and called the fire department. Our wall and cabinet are charred and our house smells of burnt plastic and is covered with the residue from the extinguisher. Maytag sent a technician to investigate the microwave and, just like the fire department, determined that the cause was internal within the microwave. A Maytag agent called us and offered us 10% off a new microwave and 15% when we told them our house had been damaged plus we wouldnt have to pay tax. Theyd even deliver and install it for free. According to my estimation, thats probably less than $50. They told me that the microwave had no value and tried to make it seem as though they were being generous. Its an 11 year old microwave but there should be some kind of warning that they spontaneously combust after a certain period of time. If the microwave had just stopped working because of age, that would have been understandable and I would have just purchased another the next day. Instead these microwaves just self-destruct and Maytag seems to be ok with that. I was not surprised that they had a 1.5 star review when I came here. I have 4 kids, ages 2-9, who wouldnt sleep that night because they were afraid of the microwave.

Almost two years after purchasing the Maytag Bravo XL, I am fed up. I have the exact same problems as everyone else in these reviews. Soap scum left on dark clothes since day 1. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong. I have read and re-read the manual especially the troubleshooting guide and still have the same thing happen. Its very frustrating. I constantly have to re-rinse clothes because of soap, lint, dirt, etc left on clothes. I wouldnt give away this washer to anyone, I would rather burn it. I am currently looking for a new washer, the last one I had for 11 years was a front loading Whirlpool. I should have stuck with a Whirlpool, I still have the matching dryer no problems at all.

Mine is the same sad story as all the others. Bought our Maytag dishwasher in 2013 (model MDB7749) and 15 months later, the control panel went out. We have contacted Maytag and they basically told us it could be our fault it doesnt work, so they wont fix it. Now we have learned that this is an issue that A LOT of people are having. We called their special number for this problem and were told they still wouldnt fix it since we called BEFORE having it repaired. So my question is, how is this legal and why arent they recalling this product? I know that there was a class action lawsuit against Maytag for this problem. Why dont we hold them accountable as well? This is bad business and we shouldnt allow them to take advantage of hard working people like this.

Worst customer service ever. I ordered my washer and dryer from home depot 2 weeks before a possible delivery day. The day before delivery I receive a call that they dont have them and I must wait 1 more week. After 3 phone calls I am promised a credit to my account. A week after delivery I am wondering where my credit I was promised is so I call. Im told the most I can be given is $100. I state that I feel my time is worth more than that. A supervisor is brought in and Im told we will get $150 credit. Then put on hold. She reviews account (why didnt you do this first) and told because we didnt call within 48 hrs of delivery the most they can give us is $75. So I call back very frustrated. Then Im told its our word against theirs that we were offered that?!? What?!? Well I am sure you record conversations and thats total BS. I explained how you cant offer something then take it back. I was told the week before I was getting a credit and my account already notated. No one said, Call within 48 hrs to dispute again to get it. Why would I have to I mean seriously. So after a total of at least 2hrs on the phone before and after delivery I am forced to settle with $75. I feel very unappreciated. I purchased and paid for $1633 worth of appliances that were a week later than promised. Called less than 24 hrs before expected delivery and told they dont even have them. Then told Im getting a credit of $150 to be told sorry now just $75. The lady proceeds to say that she doesnt think it was because of the phone call not being made. What? Are you serious. WELL THAT WAS THE LAME EXCUSE I WAS GIVEN SO I COULD CARE LESS IF IT WASNT THE REAL REASON. THAT JUST MEANS I WAS LIED TO. I promise I will never buy Maytag Whirlpool again. One customer may not mean much to you but good customer service means everything to me.

Funny thing is though, I brought the old board into my local electronic repair shop thinking it might be worth getting it fixed in order to have a spare on hand in case the new one was also short lived... He told me he examined the board and there was nothing physically wrong... The problem he said was in the programming or firmware. Unfortunately, he said Maytag does not offer an update and there is no way to clone the newer version from my new board onto the old one so it was garbage. Seriously Maytag? Hundreds of dollars later in parts and melted groceries all because you wont issue a firmware update? Also have water leaking out of the bottom of the fridge late at night so Im never awake to troubleshoot it. Considering how sporadic it seems to be, Im guessing it must have something to do with the defrost cycle... Have to figure it out though as its starting to cause damage to the floor and leaking down to the basem*nt :( Never again Maytag.

In July 2006, we purchased a Neptune Washer. The only problem we had with it is it does NOT spin the water out of the clothes after the wash cycle. This has been going on for about 4 years. In February 2012, we had a service person to examine the washer. According to the service person, there is nothing wrong with the washer. He said to put in clothing of the same type: All towels, all jeans, all pillowcases, etc. This is not the real world. This cost me a service call with no solution. On June 10, I called Maytag on my issues. They have no recalls or issues with this washer. They recommended another service call which I refused. I even offered the washer free of charge to the person I was talking to, but did not get a response. Never again will I purchase a product from this company.

Our first Maytag washer and dryer set lasted over 25 years with only minor repairs until the transmission started to leak grease and was uneconomical to repair. Our second set only lasted nearly 10 years and were obviously lesser quality. The wife decided that she wanted the best and high tech version. She really liked the features of the Bravos 300. What a mistake! Not even three years old and she has been dealing with the noise and the problem with constant unbalanced loads, intermittent error codes, odors and the forever cleaning requirement. The whites were intermittently getting rust stains until I determined that the underneath side of the top cover around the bleach reservoir had rusted out big time. I replaced the top cover for over $125 plus an afternoon that I will never get back. (Out of warranty, of course). Today the wife called me to say that the washer would not complete the rinse cycle and she could not reset it. We had to pump out the water and pick the wet clothes out. A grinding sound is coming from near the bottom of the machine and sounds expensive. The service man is scheduled to be here day after tomorrow to give me the bad news. My next washer purchase will NOT be a Maytag or any other high tech piece of crap. Simple is better.......

I have been reading the recent comments about the Maytag Bravo I purchased in 2011, and is sitting in my laundry room broken down. The timer wont advance past 18 minutes. I have reset it to factory default a number of times to no avail. I am very frustrated that the customer service offered an extended warranty for $319 to cover the service repair and another 1 years warranty. My washer is three years old! The warranty they offer is half the cost of the purchase price! The quality of this machine is very poor. I am truly disappointed with Maytag, who used to be a company you could trust. They have lost my trust along with my business.

I guess I should have done my homework. I see now several complaints about the control panels not working. I was told that MAYTAG was a very reputable company and that they stand behind their product. WRONG!. The company KNOWS these panels have problems and should replace them free of charge as it is obviously a defect. Nope, first they offer to send someone out (In a week) to repair it at $80 just to look at it and the panel is over $100 to replace, and when I complained they tried to sell me extra coverage for $250. REALLY? What is the purpose of purchasing a QUALITY dishwasher? I might as well purchase a cheap dishwasher and replace it when it breaks. I think you should be responsible for your product when you have several complaints on a specific part.

Now, in July, a mere 6 months and only a few wash loads later, it has gone from the worst machine I have ever owned to what I consider to be garbage material. First of all, it boasts about not using much water. This is true... Only 1/4 of your load is in the 3 inches of water at the bottom of the machine and the top 3/4 never even gets wet. I couldnt believe it. Now, I put 2 sheets in this morning and it fills almost to the point of spilling out, though I have to give it credit for shutting off the water before it actually did so. He took the racks and all movable parts, & thought something, a piece of glass, etc, was stuck in the drain. Nope. The panel lights come on, but not the stop button. I am a single person as stated and on disability and on a very tight budget. I bought a Maytag because of the name and reputation. How long would it have lasted under normal use, say a family of 4, using it nightly? Certainly less than a year. I have no idea what to do now. I cannot afford a repairman, & I am certain it is the control panel on the dishwasher. I do of course have all the model numbers, etc & papers, when I bought it. Went online and learned a DIY repair using a Permatex Rear Window Defogger Repair Kit to fill in the touchpad broken circuits. I have repaired it once a year for 2 years. My suggestion is to avoid purchasing this product. Apparently even after multiple consumers have contacted Maytag regarding this widespread defect, Maytag has not issued a recall or assisted anyone. They say if the part can be replaced there is no issue. When the dishwasher works, it is great, however it WILL NOT last. Touchpad will fail and you will be out $124 for the part plus labor unless you do the repair yourself.

I can see the action of the washer thru the glass lid and it definitely doesnt wash the clothes very well. They just stay in the same position and the bottom clothes get agitation but the tops ones just sit there. The towels especially smell musty after they have been washed. Probably because they dont get agitation. The water level is so low that the clothes barely get wet. It was a good idea of the company to save water and electricity. But they must not have thought about getting the clothes clean. If I could I would get rid of this machine but I wouldnt want to subject anyone else to this type of washing machine. I would feel badly selling it knowing that it doesnt get the clothes clean. So I would never suggest getting a Maytag washer with a glass lid because you dont want to see what it is not doing.

It took me until February to get it fixed, but within two months it broke again. It has taken me until now to get it fixed again and they found the same problem; the thermal fuse blew. Both times it has cost me over $100 to get fixed, but I still cant use every part of the top panel; I can only use timed dry cycle. I’m expecting the dryer to go again. The repair man had to re-glue the seal that went around the drum. The vents were all clean and were blowing fine, so we’re not sure why this keeps happening. Purchased a non agitator washer 1 year ago. Constant frustration with the sensing technology. Cannot select a water level or load size. The expectation is that the machine will do that automatically. The water dispenses through the soap container adding soap to dry clothes which then leave white marks on dark clothes. All of the selections for loads do not have a water level close to covering the clothes. The only way to achieve coverage is to reopen the lid multiple times to restart the sensing feature. Another option is to add wet clothes to increase the weight to “fool” the sensor. Some clothes have come out of the wash still dry in areas. Every load, no matter what size takes a full hour to complete! There is no quick load to be done! I have paused the cycle to leave the house and the water drains from the machine causing you to begin your 1 hour cycle again. Epic fail by the Engineers to provide a user friendly machine. This one, as time goes on, just becomes more frustrating and yes very noisy during the spin cycle.

It takes over 1hour 45 minutes to do loads sheets which is 2 sheets 2 pillowcases. The repair man told me that takes that long due to MY sheets are dirty. I have been married 46 years and never heard that ever!!! The dryer is just as bad, takes over hour and half to dry sheets and towels almost 2 hours to dry. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG ANYTHING. The person who said needed hurricane straps to hold washer is something I agree with. Just a horror.

We bought this Maytag Bravos top loading washer 2 years ago after having bad luck with a front loading Maytag. Maytag was always the top brand to buy so I thought it was the style washer but now I believe Maytag has failed to keep their standard of quality high. My clothes come out of the washer almost dry and full of lint. Even though I use the HE wash soap, it does rinse out of the clothes. Dark clothes come out with a noticeable scum so I suppose the lighter clothes do, as well, I just cant see it. I sometimes have to wet the clothes down to get them clean and I always have to double rinse them which defeats the whole economy issue. Im not happy with this washer and would not recommend anyone to buy a Maytag brand washer.

In the past 20 years, we purchased a washer, dryer, stove and dishwasher... all Maytag. The washer (purchased 20 years ago) is still functioning well! The other three appliances have all given us trouble and the dryer is no longer with us. Our stainless stove is LOVELY but thats about all its good for. Within 12 months, one of the burners burned out... just beyond its warranty. It has two ovens and 3 years after purchase, neither will hold a constant oven temp and both take an eternity to warm up... although the digital temp on the oven tells me its toasty warm. Recently, the dishwashers control panel wont set properly. An attempt to set it for a normal wash/dry cycle results in rinse only and a 2 hour delay. Make them like you used to, Maytag! Im no longer a customer!!!

First I would like to thank the salesman who has worked diligently to solve the problem I am having. The first load of dark clothes I washed came out with what looked like lint on them. It has to be scraped off. Yes I am using HE detergent. Yes I am using the minimum amount recommended by the manufacturer. & yes to all the other questions I have asked. The solution was to wash the dark clothes on power wash with an extra rinse. Very energy efficient! This was NOT the answer so I was given a 1-800 # to call. After giving all the necessary information & answering all of the questions about detergent etc. the conversation became a little more in depth. Does it happen with dark clothes? Do you dry your clothes outside or in a drier? It was becoming obvious to me that Maytag is aware of this problem. By this point I was even unhappier as no solutions were being offered. Finally after several would you mind holding the line again for just a minute he said he couldnt tell me to do this but some of his friends add a cup of vinegar to their wash. At this point I told him I was sorry I had ever bought this machine. He then said he would have a technician arrange an appointment. He arrived & declared I was using too much detergent even though by then I was using half on the manufacturers recommended amount. Buying an energy efficient washer where I have to use POWER WASH, EXTRA RINSE, VINEGAR & DRIER is not a good answer for a problem Maytag must be aware of as I read the reviews today. I have just done 2 loads of dark laundry with no detergent & the pants are marked so I WANT AN ANSWER.

We purchased our double free standing gas range about 6 years ago. Our top oven went out about 4 years after purchase. We purchased the extended warranty from Sears and it was fixed at no charge. About a year later, the top oven would not work again. We called Sears, our warranty was up so it would be a repair that we would have to pay for. We decided to go with the Maytag repair service since it is a Maytag appliance and we had to pay anyway. The repairman came in and said that the top box that holds the electronic in it had fried wires and it would have to be replaced. So for $480, he could replace it. It was more than likely caused by a power surge. I just read that this also coincidentally happened to someone else so I find this cause to ask more questions. I also note that the top of the oven behind the burners where there is some sort of vent gets extremely hot (I accidentally touched it and had a blister the next day) when the oven is being operated. This is directly under the box that holds the electronic components. I would think that may have something to do with the wires frying since it is that hot directly below the panel. Could this be a defect in the building of the stove? Has anyone else had this instance beside the one person that I read about on your website?

Maytag insists this is normal. Refused to honor warranty. Usually check Consumer Reports for quality and best buy. Energy/water efficiency is important. I like to have some control over the machine so that I can use it the best way for me. Such as soak. This machine cannot be manually controlled at all. Also it doesnt have a lint catcher, doesnt filter the wash or rinse water at all. All the lint and pet hair remains on the clothes or even gets worse.The clothes are not clean. I have no way to control the machine for my use. It may be water efficient but seems to use too little water to clean the clothes. Maytag wants to blame the EPA - This is irresponsible on their part. Its an awful washing machine and they made it. Maytag continued to insist that scum on the clothes was working normally. This scum was added by the machine. I used very little detergent; the clothes were relatively clean - just lightly wore a few days. They come out of the machine with streaks of white scum that I have to scrub off. The clean the machine cycle uses a huge amount of water. This is really DUMB: washing the machine instead of cleaning the clothes! Terrible! And Terrible customer service at Maytag. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG.

We bought a Maytag Neptune front loading washer from Bens Maytag in Surrey four years ago and it has been nothing but trouble. There is no screen in the machine to prevent small things (like coins, screws) from going behind the rubber seal and into the pump. As a result, coins frequently block off the outflow to the pump so the machine doesnt drain.We have had to pay for service calls more times than we can count, and have spent more than original price of the machine making repairs and replacing the pump. We now have learned to take off the hoses and open the pump to remove coins ourselves, which we have to do every few weeks! Bens Maytag tells us that its our fault for letting coins go in the wash. There is no accountability for the faulty design of the machine that allows this to happen. We should have cut out losses and thrown this piece of junk out three years ago. We want Maytag to take responsibility for the faulty design of this product and to credit at least our purchase price toward another machine that works properly!

My dishwasher worked great until the control panel buttons started blinking and going crazy! Then, it just stopped working altogether. I called Maytag about this part, and found out that it is only covered the first year, and the so-called 10-year warranty doesnt cover it. What good is the extended 10-year warranty if it doesnt cover all the parts!? I researched this dishwasher before I bought it. It got fairly good reviews at the time. Now when I look it up, it gets these terrible reviews! I am so disappointed with this situation. I have other Maytag appliances that have performed great. Im not sure why their dishwashers cant be made the same way.I am going to order the part and repair the machine. I hope this will fix the problem. I had hoped that the Maytag brand would live up to their hype, and be better than the Whirlpools I had already had such bad experiences with. The Whirlpools had great features, they just didnt last! This dishwasher, too, has great features. Two years isnt a long enough run for it to be a good choice, though. Really disappointed :(

Im living in a shop lot area and its near a university school. It has different laundromat stores here, and the cheapest is the one who have Maytag washers. So Ive been going there to wash clothes and as time passes, I noticed that the clothes have been getting stains after washing and these stains cannot be removed easily. Ive read reviews about clothes getting stained using Maytag washers and I cant believe that it happened to me. I dont know whats with Maytag that makes the clothes dirty/stained. I went to other laundromat stores that are not using Maytag washers. Its quite expensive, but it really makes your clothes clean.

We bought the Maytag washer from Home Depot on 5/4/2011 and it quit working on about 7/2014. We had a repairperson look at it and he said the drive transmission is worn out. He recommended that we buy a different machine since the part does not hold up since the part is made out of a plastic fiber material that does not show up. We bought the Maytag because we thought they had good products but a 3 year life on a wash machine is not acceptable. It is installed at our cabin so we only use it part of the year on limited bases.

Its when I searched online for replacement part I learned about the defective control panel. So I decided to forgo repair and bought a new dishwasher. I feel the manufacturer should be held responsible and called the number found on the internet, 858-646-8500, about a class action lawsuit filed in California federal court. The lawyer handling the case called me back that day explaining to me its a long road before the case qualifies for class lawsuit. Because I live in Texas, he will need someone to represent Texas plaintiffs in order to include Texas in the national settlement down the road. I said, I dont expect anything but would like to see a class action. Since I have no use of the defective dishwasher, he asked if I am willing to send the machine to him at his expense. I said yes. For all of you complaining about the defective dishwasher, I suggest you to call the number to join the lawsuit. Even though we may not see a penny for long, long time, its the only way to punish the deceptive business.

I purchased 4 new Maytag appliances as part of a kitchen update. The dishwasher was the first to fail, less than a year after being installed. The control panel stopped working (random lights would come on, always different from the one being pressed, and frequently incompatible selections such as Rinse Only and Sanitize. PC Richards sent a repairman with a new part, no charge. A few weeks ago, it happened again. PC Richards says that replacement parts are only under warranty for 90 days, so now the repair is on me. I could pay or repair it myself or pay PC Richards to do it. Thank goodness I am handy, but I still have to pay for the part. Now I am reading that the MDB7749 series has a history of this problem. When is Maytag going to own up and issue free repairs? I certainly will never buy Maytag again, as both the range and the refrigerator also have common problems. Luckily, I paid for the 10-year service agreement on those appliances.

My freezer has been leaking from the bottom for a few months and now the icemaker has quit working as well. The refrigerator has been purchased less than two years ago. The warranty is expired. I will not fix this refrigerator, as it is a gigantic piece of junk. However I would like to be compensated by Maytag at least 1/3 of the price so I can have it removed from my house before it creates more damage to my floors and subfloors.

After having had Maytag Highlander washer and dryer for 28 years in our early married life, and continuing to think that Maytag was a quality product, we purchased the Neptune front load washer MAH6700AWW. Let me tell you this IS NOT your mothers washer, nor is this Maytag a quality product. First it was necessary to install water pipe shock arrestors because of the water valve on washer causing shock in the waterline when it closed. The automatic Softener/detergent dispenser didnt work from day one.Coins and etc. constantly kept getting under flippers and couldnt be easily removed. I found that it was impossible to remove the plastic flipper without breaking a plastic mounting tab. On my first call to customer the Maytag Customer Loyalty Team, aka Customer Service (CS), I was told that the plastic flippers were not available as a separate part, and that the entire tub assembly with plastic flippers would need to be replaced. WHAT???????? THATS LUDICROUS. After temporarily securing the broken flipper to the tub, I thought Id call again about a week later to see if the previous answer was correct. On this call, the customer service lady (whose name I have), said the flippers are available and that she would send two at no charge. A few days later two flippers arrived, but were not the correct ones. I then decided to drill two holes in the tub and remounted the broken flipper with two stainless screws as a permanent solution.Two pumps needed to be replaced. One was replaced under warranty and one by myself. The one replaced by me was damaged by a coin that made its way from the tub to the pump. Other washer manufacturers provide a means of trapping such objects before they get to the pump. The wash cycle stopped unexpectedly numerous times without reason, after which the code 5d was displayed. I called Maytag Customer service. The representative didnt know what 5d code meant. Her suggestion was to call a service man. Again, I called later to ask and was told 5d meant excessive suds which wasnt the cause. Might this have been a control problem?There were three incidents of water discharging onto the floor from under the washer over the last two months, which caused water to cover an area of approximately 5 by 12 resulting in extensive cleanup in addition to damage to stored items. Since these occurrences were weeks apart and unpredictable, I knew the problem would be difficult, if not impossible, to diagnose, even by a serviceman. I concluded that it was probably a problem with the control; either filling too long or not emptying the tub before refilling for the next cycle. Thats when I decided to send this troublesome Maytag piece of junk to the landfill.

I was able to finally afford to have a technician take a look at it. I am told that it is the circuit board and it is going to cost as much as the price I bought the dishwasher for. I thought Maytag products were better than the other products so I paid a little more and got a Maytag only to find out that they are garbage. I might as well bought an unknown brand at a cheaper price for all your products were worth. I guess you cannot trust anyone these days, and I will never buy a Maytag product of any kind again. Big mistake. Worst purchase ever!! These high-efficiency washers (Maytag Washer Bravos XL) are the worst especially this one! I wash and wipe down the washer drum more than I was my clothes. I purchased it because it had a huge drum so I can wash my blankets and comforters. This washer leaves soap scum marks/residue on clothes and leaves it on the drum as well. I basically have to wash my clothes twice once with soap and then run again with just wash and rinse without soap, you tell me how efficient is that! Why not make a washer that put more water so the clothes can get washed properly. Dont worry about my water and electric bill. The washer was purchased from Lowes on August 17, 2016 and we tried to return but Lowes refused because we were passed the required 30 day return period. We contacted the Maytag company and they sent out service people who reported that there was nothing we could do other than wash small loads. The company also reported that if we tried any of the solutions on the web we would violate our Warranty. Since we find ourselves in this spot (we should have read all the bad reviews here before the purchase) we have decided to place the machine in a very visible spot across from a new 100 store shopping center on a truck with a 4x8 sign warning the public not to purchase this product.

It began to leak water and after two times of having water on the floor, we decided it had worn out and purchased another washer. We immediately wanted another Maytag since our previous one has lasted for quite a while. We bought the new Maytag Centennial washing machine in the Spring of 2011. This is May of 2013 and we have had to purchase another washing machine since the electrical board in ours went out. The replacement part is listed at $300+ and that is without labor to install. Needless to say, I am very unhappy that I have had to purchase another washer so soon... and did not buy a Maytag this time.

Never EVER had an issue with it and it still runs perfectly. Well, just out of warranty in May of 2015, the ice maker stopped working in the new Maytag. Called and got service. Learned there was a recalled part. Service man fixed. 2 days later, it broke again. They came back out and fixed again. This time, the motor was REALLY LOUD. They came out to replace that. Now, both the freezer and refrigerator are not properly cooling. Cannot keep ice cream and cannot make ice. Called again. I was told these dual fan systems simply do not work. I have spent a lot of effort leveling my machine, and my wife balances the load very carefully, but 10 times during a cycle, it will start slamming the tub around, so loud you can hear it from the street. I, like others in this forum, thought I was buying the best washer in the market, and paid extra for the Maytag name. It sounds like from the other complaints, that my problem is just the tip of the iceberg. It will cost me $200 to replace the suspension rods. I wouldnt mind paying the money, if I thought it would fix my problem. After reading about all of the other problems with the Bravos, I might just cut my losses, and get a new one. What a waste of $1,000.
