In the history of Logos Academy, it is hard to imagine a more decorated student than Andrew. He has led our student government, won Project Week, has a 4.0, and has earned Distinguished Honor Roll every single quarter of his high school career. At the beginning of this year, Drew threw himself into pursuing his dream of attending the United States Air Force Academy. I honestly have never met any eighteen year old more qualified. Drew is a critical thinker, a servant leader, an incredible athlete, Cadet Commander of his local Civil Air Patrol, a hard worker, and most of all a man of character. However, after all that work, midway through the year it became clear that a previous neck injury was going to prevent Drew’s long held dream from becoming a reality. When the things we love most are taken away from us, our true character is revealed. In faith, Drew accepted that God had shut one door and must be calling him to walk through a different one. Fully accepting that God wants his best, Drew threw himself into Plan B with the same energy, hope, and joy characteristic of him.Drew was accepted into Liberty University, Taylor, Messiah, Susquehanna, Cairn, Elizabethtown, Ursinus, Walsh, University of Massachusetts, West Virginia State, Arcadia, Champlain, Dickinson, Alleghany, Hartwick, and Florida Institute of Technology. In the fall, he plans to study cybersecurity at Messiah University where he was accepted into their honors program and earned over the full cost of tuition in scholarships. Drew, thank you for the example of faith and perseverance you have been to us all! We are so proud of you!

Joseph was accepted into York College, Shippensburg, UMBC, Kean, Geneva, Messiah, Penn State York, Millersville and Northeastern. After rounds of interviews and numerous essays, Joseph also won a full ride to three different colleges. He plans to major in business at Messiah University and, amongst other endeavors, hopes to one day open up his own real estate company. Some high school projects and memories that had the greatest impact on Joseph were getting to act in Classical Academic Press’ filmed and broadcasted reenactment of Hamlet, passing mock legislation as a Senator for the Day at the Capitol Building in Harrisburg, serving as an accuracy coach for Poetry Out Loud and, of course, his senior thesis project.Joseph, you have overcome a lot to be where you are today. Your senior thesis was compassionate and courageous. From kids to adults to your classmates, everyone loves and will miss Joseph! Your passion for learning, for fun, for friendship, and for deep conversations have made our school a better place. You are articulate, passionate, and have a strong sense of justice. We believe that God is going to continue to bless many people through your life.

Onyce was accepted into Penn State York, Ursinus, IUP, Messiah, Harcum, Kean, and West Virginia State University. Although Onyce won a full ride to three different colleges, she has chosen to attend Messiah University in the fall where she won over $45,000 in scholarships. Onyce dreams of one day becoming a veterinarian. She jokes that animals “are less complicated than people”, but anyone who meets Onyce walks away blessed by her nurturing nature and genuine concern for others.Onyce came to Logos Academy in ninth grade. In her own words: “Logos was very different than anything I had experienced before; faith was practiced every day. I learned from teachers who patiently created an environment where questions were welcome, failure was normalized, and wonder was encouraged.”Onyce, we are so very glad that God brought you to Logos Academy. Your incredible art, your consistent work ethic, and your loyal friendship has been a blessing to us all. We are going to miss you so much!

imone was accepted into Muhlenberg, Allegheny, Ursinus, Drexel, Cedar Crest, York, McDaniel, Messiah, Westminster, Elizabethtown, Juniata, and Moravian College. In the fall, she plans to study history at Muhlenberg College. She then hopes to go on to graduate school where she plans to get a Masters in Archival Studies. In high school, she had a paid internship at the York County Historical Center. This experience has fueled her desire to one day become a museum curator or archivist. In her own words: “I am a detailed person at heart. I enjoy taking care of things and love learning. Archives are very overlooked. Somebody somewhere had to preserve Plato’s writings so that we could have them today. I will get the chance to be a part of history in this small way. Some of the most profound parts of life are often overlooked.”Simone, whether it was through the minute detail in your art, your consistent loyalty to your friends, or through the impassioned plea of your senior thesis, urging us all to be mindful of the compounded effects of stress on teenagers - you have helped us to look closer and to see the world in new ways. At Logos Academy, we are really going to miss you!

Sonjai was accepted into Stevenson University, Liberty, Millersville, York, Messiah, and IUP. In addition to the Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship, Sonjai also won the Flowers Diversity Scholarship, the Burger King Scholarship, and the Four Chaplains Memorial Award. She plans to pursue a degree in psychology from Messiah University, where she earned $54,686 per year in scholarships and grants, covering the full cost of her tuition and dorm for the next four years, and almost the full cost of her food.In Sonjai’s own words: “My faith has grown exponentially during high school. My class often discussed deep Biblical topics, diverse political views, and philosophical questions. We respected each other’s different views and beliefs but also challenged one another. We were helped and encouraged by our teachers to be living examples of what it means to be created in God's image. In my opinion, this is true education.”What Sonjai will miss the most about Logos Academy is her deep relationships with teachers and friends. Sonjai, you are very observant and discerning for your age. You love to listen, possess a quiet strength, and notice things that others often do not. You care deeply about justice and your amazing senior thesis inspired all of us to pay more attention to the marginalized in our community. You are going to be an incredible therapist one day and we know that your ability to listen, empathize, and give sound advice from God’s Word is going to bring healing and transformation to so many people.

Isiaih is an entrepreneur, a leader, an athlete, and a scholar. As a public speaker, he can captivate a room. As a volleyball player, you do not want to be on the opposite team. As a mentor, he has been a role model to a lot of young men. But, above all, Isiaih is a man of faith who wants to use his gifts to impact this world for Christ. Isaiah has so many different gifts that trying to narrow down what he wants to do after high school has been difficult. He was accepted into York College and won over $14,000 in scholarships. He also rode along with York City’s Fire Department, exploring that as a future career. Currently, Isaiah is planning on taking a gap year, in which he will continue working for Wellspan York Hospital while pursuing getting his real estate license. In his own words: “I still am not exactly sure what the future holds, but everyday I learn a little bit more about myself. I still think that it is ironic that teenagers, whose minds have not fully developed and who are just beginning to understand who they are, are expected to make life altering choices about their careers and futures. I regularly ask myself how I can make a difference in the world. It was my little brother who taught me that I can make a difference through impacting one person at a time. I wish that I could tell my ninth grade self to not be scared to take risks, to try new things, and that you do not actually have to have your whole life figured out by eighteen. Do not compare yourself to others. The small choices that you make every day and your willingness to continue learning will determine the man that you become.”Isiaih, we could not agree more. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see where God takes you from here!

From the moment you meet Olivia, you will be struck by a young woman who is both humble and inspiring. Olivia was accepted into Elizabethtown, Messiah, Ursinus, Franklin & Marshall, Moravian, and Villanova. She holds the Logos Academy record for highest SAT score in our history, scoring a 1480 as a junior. After lengthy interview processes, Olivia was accepted into two different college honors programs, winning the coveted full ride Trustees Scholarship and the Excelsior Merit Scholarship. Though she won full rides at both of her top choice schools, Olivia has decided to attend Elizabethtown College in the fall, where she wants to major in International Business and minor in Japanese with a concentration in finance. In the future, she hopes to travel and learn as many languages as possible. In her own words: “There is incredible value to be found in studying history and culture. By doing so, we can learn from each other and from the past, in order to form a better present. I have been studying Japanese for four years now, and it has become one of my greatest joys. This passion of mine has inspired me to take on a career in which I can use my language skills to serve the global community.”Olivia, in so many ways, your love for God, for people in other cultures, for creation, and for learning exemplify the hopes and dreams we have for all our graduates. Anata to hanarete sabishiku narimasu. We will miss you.

Blake is an extremely gifted, passionate, and articulate young man! He was accepted into the very competitive engineering programs at the University of Pittsburgh, Drexel, Temple, and Penn State. He plans on studying mechanical engineering at Penn State’s main campus in the fall. Alongside the generous Rotary Club scholarship, last week Blake discovered that he had won the Clark Scholars Award. Combined, they will cover the full cost of his tuition, dorm, food, and books for all four years. That is amazing!Without question, Blake is a leader! He has been our chapel tech team leader, yearbook editor, hockey captain, and, as a leader in our student government, has organized one event after the next. Blake's hockey team christened him “the Energizer Bunny” and it is true.Blake, you are a force to be reckoned with and your absence is going to leave a palpable hole at Logos Academy; but we are so proud of you! Your faith, strong work ethic, passion, creativity, and positive attitude are going to take you so far! We can’t wait to see all the things you will invent!
